To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Victoria Fringe this year, we are planning a 4-day night party – the Fringe’s 25th Birthday Bash. Join us in Centennial Square for this FREE celebration from August 23-26, which will include a Fringe Prom All-Ages Dance Party, the famous Fringe Eve Preview, live bands at our Block Party concert, a breathtaking illuminated installation of lanterns and giant puppets created specially by the Luminara Festival, spectacular aerial dance performances by Romp! In the Square, a beverage garden and more!
Fringe 80s Prom Dance Party

Dance like it’s 1986! DJ Mz Niko will spin tunes from the Fringe’s inaugural year and revelers are encouraged to don prom attire for the festivities to kick off the 25th Fringe. Includes fun for the whole family, a Luminara parade and a crazy dance flash mob (shhh! Don’t tell anyone!).

Come join the all-ages fun as some of the Pacific Northwest’s hottest bands entertain you fringe-style, while you kick back and relax in the beverage garden. Acts include Portland’s Fruit Bats, and local acts The Archers, Lola Parks and Mindil Beach Markets.

Fringe Eve Preview

Join in the pre-fest mayhem and experience this Fringe Eve tradition — watch Fringe companies take the stage to give you a sneak peek of their upcoming show. This event has been so popular in recent years we are moving it outdoors this year. Ticket giveaways and a draw for a Fringe Superpass!

FringeKids Fest

FREE! MARKET SQUARE (560 Johnson Street)
This fun family celebration is one of the Fringe’s best kept secrets. FringeKids is a completely free one-day family festival with live performances, puppet making, craft activities, an inflatable bouncy bunny, life-sized puppets and the Cardboard Castle for small artists to paint! Families are encouraged to bring new school supplies to donate to the Single Parent Resource Centre.

As you leave shows, you will be invited to cast a vote using the no-tech, eco-friendly method of beans in tins. We will tally up the votes and the ‘Pick of the Fringe’ winners will be announced at a party on Closing night.
